Hello.

My name is Katherine Marie Partyka, and I am a 3D Animator with a focus in Modeling Look Development and Lighting.

My Story

I have recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. My course of study was 3D animation. During my tenure at SCAD, I discovered my passion for animation primarily came from modeling elaborate environments to finalizing detailed textures to creating lighting that either enhance the overall beauty of the environment or to emulate a certain feeling through each scene. It is for those reasons that I am seeking a position in gaming, advertising and film making as either a Modeling or Lighting Artist.

My love for animation stemmed from my childhood, as animation became a comfort for me during my early years of education. From the moment I entered preschool I was marked by the teachers for being different from the other students. That marked followed me through preschool to kindergarten to first grade. It was in first grade that I was tested and diagnosed with a learning disability called dyslexia. To sum up my disability in a few words; it means that I have a difficult time reading, writing, spelling, and understanding the world around me. This led to my complicated relationship with stories. I love the idea of storytelling but could not enjoy them because I was unable to read them. Thus, animation became the solution to my problem, and as I grew older my love for animation continued to grow. I also learned how my disability made my life more difficult than other, but it also had a positive impact. I learned how to develop a strong work ethic, learned to be patient with myself and others, and finally I learned how seeing the world in a different way led to me exploring my own creativity. It is because of my disability that I want to pursue a career in animation. I want to create meaningful projects what will leave a lasting impression on all those who choose to watch them.

Thank you for reading my story and I hope to collaborate in the future.
